4 MILLION POUNDS PULLED!!! And Counting...

It seems like just yesterday that we were pulling our one-millionth pound (in actuality, it was just back on July 20, 2018), but today we passed yet another milestone and it's now adding up by the millions - 4 million pounds pulled from the ocean and coastlines...and counting!

Let's put this into a bit of context.

It took us almost a full year and 7 months to pull our first 1 million pounds and just a little over 7 months to pull our next 3 million pounds...WOW!

4ocean Employees Celebrating the 4 Millionth Pound

Now, that's what it looks like when you get after it and make it happen to meet the enormous challenge of ocean plastic pollution. 4ocean employees are some of the most dedicated and hardworking people we know. They're on the water and coastlines from SE Florida, to Haiti and around the world to Bali pulling a massive amount of ocean plastic and trash every day. Suffice to say, we couldn't be more proud of them.

Check out some these shots of our global team in action!

However, don't let their adorable faces distract you from the fact that sea otters also play a very important role in the health of their local ecosystems. For the remaining populations around the world, the conservation of this keystone species is critical and must remain a high priority if sea otters are to survive the many challenges facing them today. UPDATE: The 4ocean Ocean Plastic Recovery Vessel

by 4ocean Team August 26, 2019

Back in November of 2018, we were so excited about the launch of the 4ocean Ocean Plastic Recovery Vessel and totally fired up to start cleaning up massive amounts of plastic pollution from river mouths and the ocean. But, we quickly learned that she just wasn't quite ready to start her mission. So, it was back to the shipyard for some modifications. Check out all the new things we needed to get her back underway.
